About this web site This web site is a labor of love - an attempt to help preserve the historical heritage of Okaloosa County, Florida. My roots run deep and so does my love for the area. I graduated Niceville Senior High School in 1977 and then joined the military, leaving "Boggy Country" far behind. Whenever I run out of "fuel" and just need time to rest and relax, I head back to northwest Florida. I look-up old friends, walk along Bayshore Drive in Valparaiso - under the moss covered trees, and sit along the banks of Tom's and Boggy bayous. Creating this web site helps me feel closer to "home" - even though right now I reside in the Southwest.
